About
Khalid Patel is a British writer, artist and English Literature graduate of Indian and Burmese heritage. Born into a working-class Muslim culture, he was raised in a northern England housing estate, a place of tomblike dwellings, destitution and crime. His background and experiences echo his multilayered storytelling, characterized by poetically charged prose, stark dialogue and searing sociopolitical asides.
He is the founder of Sev Inks, an independent publishing house of challenging and unconventional work. Through Sev Inks, he has helped publish stories exploring themes ranging from addiction and loneliness to feminism and mortality.
