Khalid Patel is a British writer and English Literature graduate of Indian and Burmese heritage. Raised in a working-class Muslim culture, his multilayered background and experiences echo his textured storytelling, often characterized by poetically charged prose, captivating dialogue and searing sociopolitical asides.
He is also the founder of Severest Inks, an independent publishing house dedicated to challenging narratives. Through Severest Inks, he has helped publish stories exploring themes ranging from addiction and loneliness to feminism and mortality.
“This kid breaks some rules and he breaks them across people’s faces. Khalid Patel represents a new age in fiction. He examines traditional fiction and turns it on its head with technology and innovation.” – Eryk Pruitt, author of What We Reckon
